Not 100% sure what you meen, but Sierra grpa have strenghtnings under floor, to stiffen shell, these Are like a "extension" on front framlegs, to the end of floor (also other strenghtnings on shell). I have some pics of them on my saph, but was on photofuckit...

To call IT waste of time is abit wrong, either Sierra or escos have a "stiff" shell, so they flex allot... I guess IT was a reason to make these strenghtnings. But depend of how its done too..

It sounds like you are talking about "sub-frame connectors." These are one of the first chassis upgrades done on 1960s through 2000s unibody cars over here. The unibody cars are so flexible, especially hatchbacks, that without additional bracing, suspension upgrades never have the desired effect. Just imagine the front and rear connected by an unpredictable, variable rate spring. It can be so bad, that hard quarter mile launches in Fox Mustangs will tear the front torque box and driver's seat base out. The properly engineered connectors triangulate and usually tie in to support the seat mounts. See Kenny Brown, Maximum Motorsports, Steeda...
