  • MAD Spec Black art design coilovers

    Evening gents,

I was just wondering if anyone on here has the MAD spec Black Art design coilovers and what they're like? Heard good things and I think my Gaz Golds aren't that great.

Also, how much are they a set? Can't find anything online!

    thanks all!

I think they are a great set up for the road. Everyone always goes too hard on the springs and damping and a relatively short body shell by today’s standards means they are not as good as they should be where the Spec I go for let’s you have suspension which on a bumpy road makes all the diff.
If you want the car sitting on the floor go for stiff.

Cheers Mark. How much are you looking at for them? I want a good spec. I want to be able to track it too. Not too low, just not look like it's flying!

Agree on above. But you should(if not done alrwady) try to chance springs first... I never liked my gaz on any of my cars, but helped allot to lift car and put on softer springs

True, just not a fan of them. They're not the best. So want to upgrade everything while I'm at it.

i know these are good however are they that good to spend £2k on going from an ok ride to very good ride.

I got Gaz on mine and track my car and I doubt I could notice the difference on track I think as it handles well for what they are.

              Dave.

For the cost of gaz, they Are okay, but compared to some "proper" they Are not that good... But sure depends on what you like... Some like the daughter, some like the mother and some like both

I'm trying to build the best car I can and I know they're among the best. So why not go all out. I never want to think I could have gone a little better. So might as well.

I put new Black Arts on mine coming up on two years ago.....but unfortunately apart from bringing it home after fitting them I've not really driven it since ! That wasn't the plan but there we are..,..that's life
                      I ordered road spec.....whether that's any different to MAD spec I've no idea ? I paid £1600 all in and I flinched at that.....if they'd been £1750+vat I don't think I would of gone that route !

That's quite expensive. I believe they're revalved to Marks secret recipe.

It's a lot but I really do want to fit the best and know it's done. Expensive but quality always is! And if Mark is recommending them I'll take that!

In what way are the BAD coilovers adjustable? Are they 1-way, with bump and rebound together, or only rebould, only bump or are they 2-way adjustable, bump and rebound separately?
