  • Transit Connect.....?

A shout out to all fellow van drivers My current van got redesigned by a Honda CRV in the recent snow & ice and it's not an economical repair so i'm needing to change and am looking at the current shape Connect.....anyone here running one and got any opinions good or bad
I avoided the previous shape Connect due to too many stories of failed turbo's amongst other things so hoping things have improved

Yes I have a lwb transit connect Ltd, and honestly can't fault it, lovely to drive, more gadgets than any car I've had, it's like a car in the cab tbh.
Only thing I've changed is the battery, died just after 3yrs, too much draining it when stationary and your in and out.
No option to turn inner and outer lights off every time you open a door. Other than that, best van I've had by a mile.

As above great van kitted out better than most cars 45.5 mpg local 115bhp 6 speed
In my own experiance ive never seen a blown turbo on our fleet on the earlier connects ? seen 1 wet belt brake on a 7 yr old 100k van and a few egr valves

Cheers boys, that's good to hear ! Probably the best looking of all the vans around at the moment too
Now just gotta find the right one ! I want a Limited to get all the creature comforts and I want either deep impact blue or red with the red being pretty rare it seems ! Seen a red one I like that's suspiciously cheap but right over the other side of the bloody country lol

I am a postman and where I work there a few different types of vans mainly Renault Kangoo (about 35) . 2 Fiat Doblo they also had Transit connect also. The Renault are the best for my job tbh great on the back roads easy to get in and out of but lack the power of the Fiat or the Transit. The Fiat I could never get comfortable in. I never drove the Transit Connect but the lads that work with me said where as the Transit was a good wee van they were not as good as the Renault for our particular job but would be great if you had'nt got to jump in and out of it 300 times a day. In saying that the nephew just bought an M-Sport connect I found that brilliant on the open road.

We have 3 lwb 5 seaters.
Bought kangoo, partner and connect, tested them for a half year and decided to go with another two fords.
Best van on the market; look, space, gadgets and price...

Mines silver, and I think it looks great, the colour I would go for now, having seen a couple is the champagne, it looks real nice in that.
only prob with red, is everyone thinks it's a post van, and I'm not convinced the blue suits personally.

Silver is good..,..,had an Escort van in moondust way back and the colour disguises marks and chips very well !
On my travels I saw an impact blue with 18" focus ST wheels which looked well sharp
With the red I know everyone will call me postman Pat lol but I thought about putting an up & over stripe on it !......a broad one with a thin one next to it.....possibly in a dark silver or anthracite colour. Then maybe the Focus wheels which I guess aren't too expensive

What do people think about their security ? I know the big Transit has a reputation for being easy to get into and drive away......or have things got better
