Nurburgring trip

Will upload some pics and more info, but had a pretty eventful trip last weekend.

Arrived on Friday and got to meet Vaughn Gittin Jr and his very cool drift Mustang on arrival. Nice car, but he's a bit of a smug tool

Had issues with my car for the first time, which was a shame. In short, on the last day my wheel bearing failed and the 360x32 went on a slant and caught the pad retaining lug on the caliper. Fecked rotor

Otherwise, it was an epic trip.

Isn’t that track a bit complicated?
I mean you can learn corner 1, 2, 3... but what when you are on 15 to 20?
All other tracks you can learn in 2-3 days, i mean you can go thru each corner sliding and that is my point, driving on the limits.
I think i would need copilot on the ring to drive fast enough.

Been going for a good few years and know the track well, the corners and elevation changes etc. But ask any driver, no lap is perfect. Even pro drivers on there will tell you. But it really is the ultimate test for you as a driver and your car. I'm just gutted because my car failed for the first time. But luckily not on track, because that's a little costly!

What do you do for insurance. its the only thing putting me off going round it. I know fully comp UK insurance by EU law is valid as 3rd party regardless of what you insurance company says. however when the claim comes through back in the UK they can take out a civil action against you to recover the costs incurred by paying out. So although your legal on the Ring your insurance company get you when you get back home.
Its a real worry and until I can come up with a solution I don't want to drive it

Deffo a huge tick on the bucket list when I went to the Nurburgring in 2015, I did both the Green Hell & GP track in an old Mk2 Astra GTE and loved every minute of it, hope you had a great trip?

I was back over in Germany with a Mk1 Astra GTE 2 months ago but unfortunately never got back to the ring on this occasion
