KGF classics Escort

A friend of mine is interested in the red Escort Cosworth at kgf classics. But in the video walk round it looks to have mk6 doors fitted??. Can anyone shed some light on it plz

well spotted,they look awful dont they,presumably it must have had at least one replacement door and theyve obviously changed both to make them match,so then you assume its been in a prang at some time? it does look a tidy car though ,will be interesting to see who knows it as i bet someone on here will do ,its been very well detailed and buffed up thats for sure,kgf always present their cars to the max i will give them credit for that,other dealers you get 4 pics and a wipe over

i just read the advert and it says the handles were replaced for aesthetic reasons,im sure the handles arent interchangeable as the doorskin recess is a diff shape?

Ye the door skins are a different shape also. Something isn’t right

Pretty sure this was from Scotland.

remember it being advertised a good while back and noticed the door handles too....unless a similar car

would like it with normal handles on if i was buying it.

need to have a look and go from there, ask a few more questions.

I know in 70s many BMW 02 owners changed rear round lights to square ones and nowdays everybody wants round ones.
Also many e39 m5 are facelifted, many 2wd Saphs are with 4wd bonnets and lights...
So, probably owner wanted and liked that handles more, even if they had to change the skin they could use the right one.
I’ve seen already some Escorts with that handles.

if you could find the history and it checked out ok then it would be a great bargaining point , a specialist car dealer will know the wrong doors will affect the value and he obviously knows that by passing them off as mods

I actually bought a rolling shell off Paul Linfoot many years ago that had the Mk6 doors fitted. It was red as well! You certainly can't just change the handles, it would have to have been the doors complete. That would put me off, especially at 50 grand. Mine is increasing in value every day if that's worth that much!
