Autoleads used to make adapters for fitting bigger speakers. I fitted some Infinity mids and tweeters in one speakers, but the tweeter part was touching the grill on the door card.

you couldnt expand that a little could you? in what way bigger and were they still seperates as they are originally.... do they need to be slim fit so the window does'nt fowl on them???

I can't remember much tbh mate. Ive got the speakers in the garage and will measure them next time Im over there.
ah i see, looks like that replaces the standard two piece door speaker arrangement with a single two way 6.5 inch speaker...... could be the way forward

Yep, only one speaker Way forward? I brought these 4 years ago Its the easiest way I found to fit a decent speaker

the way forward to better sounds..... mine still has wanky original beasts - not good. got a pair of 6.5inch rockford fosgates going spare, perfect for this i reckon!
