Tips on Cleaning the Underside......

I'll probably get a resto thread going soon enough but for now i need some tips / advice on the best way to clean the underside of my sapphire please.

So far ive tried tar and glue remover, Octoral degreaser and petrol (without restoring to throwing a match into the mix.....so far) but its taking bloody ages.

I knew it was always going to be a labourious job but is there an easier way or better products to use ?

I can pressure wash it as the cars in my garage with no wheels on and i dont want to blast it as i want to make it look original.

I think i'd have had that Steam Cleaned prior to strip down (not pressure washed). You could try a commercial degreaser or some strong engine wash solution, other than that its continue as you are with the elbow grease.

I hate to say it but unless you steam clean it off it will take ages and it is the worst job ever!
I started off doing what your doing then just hired a steamer, it was done within a day easily

What sort of steamer do you mean mate as doing a search i can only find ones suitable for carpets etc????

spray neat tfr on the underside and scrub any thick gunge stuff, then jet wash off

then i used panel wipe and a stiff brush, sprayed it on brushed and wiped off bringing it back to its natural colour as it left the factory

Steam it I've got perfect power washer for it

ideally you should have steam cleaned it to get the thick off before it came off the road,anyway you do it now is going to result in you being lathered up to fook you could try a good degreaser like gunk,spray it on,scrub it in with a brush then let it soak in and wipe off,you may be able to cut through the worst of it like this without getting too filthy,then go over it all again with petrol to finish off,make sure you wear some decent goggles/gloves/mask etc like you didnt know anyway lol

I hired one from a local hire place, diesel power steam cleaner,the water is very very hot works a treat, only cost 40 quid for a day and was easily done in that time

I have been using Panel Wipe and Scrubbing Brushes !

and yes IT TAKES FOOKIN AGES !!!!

But its worth it
