  • Tyres for big power car

I have just checked the date on my tyres and there 15 years old and still have 5mm tread.............time to change me thinks.
Any one have ideas on the best all rounder tyre. Price not particularly important. Grip in dry and Wet is though.

I’m on federal 595rsr tyres, ideal if you mainly
        drive in dry conditions.
seem great on the road and track so far but sketchy in heavy down pours.
Was running good years previously and the feds seem much better

          Thanks Guys,
I live in Scotland and the weather is always behind the curve ball when it comes to temp and rain. A good wet and dry tyre as a compromise would be good? any of the above tyre good in both situations ?

Michelin Pilot Sport 4S is supposed to be a good tyre, if you can find them in your size.

Thanks for that. Just read up on them and they seem to be a good all round high performance tyre.
All round performance tyre is what Im looking for.

              [edit]

Just priced them up ....about £150 each. Thats good imo.

I have the Michelin Pilot Sport 4 on my BMW and like them a lot. The 4S is only available in bigger sizes, but is supposed to be even better. Before I had the Goodyear Eagle Asymmetric 3, which was also very good. So I suppose the 5 should be even better. The Continental PremiumContact 6 should also be very good. Perhaps have a look at this test:

I have Pilot Sport 4S’s on mine, although it’s no where near big power I’ve heard nothing but good reviews so that’s why I bought them

Another vote here for Michelin's. I swear by them and have had them on my last 5 cars. Costco are currently doing a good deal on them: £80 off if you buy a set of four: https://www.costco.co.uk/michelin-promotion

They're listed as £125 inc VAT, so you'll be about £450 for all four inc fitting and discount which is a great deal IMO.

Thanks all. I think the Michelin tyres get the thumbs up then.
I still have the car in bits at the moment. Loads of work to do when the weather gets worse
I will price them up at my local tyre garage.
