  • Water pump

I've started to replace the radiator on my ST Escort, the air con brackets had corroded off. Is it worth swapping the water pump whilst I'm there?
There's no leaks and I'm sure it was running fine but as it is the access is pretty good.
Any recommendations for a supplier? Need thermostat as well the gaskets, thinking Burton??
Also does the bottom pulley need to come off to remove the cam cover?

    Hi Steve
Personaly if the water pump is not leaking, squeaking or doing anything else unusual I would leave it . But thats me.
As to removal of cam cover no you don't have to remove the bottom pully. You should be able to remove the cover without touching the cam belt.

      Sound advice thanks.
having looked at several water pumps they don't look a good fit at least not Ford quality.
Aluminium pump from BHP looks promising but I'll leave mine as is at the moment.
