Had values stay the same as 10 years ago I would have had a few and drive them daily.
find a lot of people cashed in and can’t replace them is the only real problem for majority of people now it’s down to the enthusiasts that own them that will pay the money or keeping them as not in it for the money
insure them properly and if the worst happens your insured had 1 of mine at Bradford to a show last month drove it there and back 400 odd miles and loved it

The hardest part is keeping up with the market for insured value. The local insurers don't seem to monitor the values outside of Oz, so it can take some effort to convince them
Agree the value does change what you're prepared to do with them. Most people here don't know what they are worth, so less likely to be pinched but I still wouldn't leave it in a public car park.
I reckon my Mk1 Escort is more likely a target because they are better known here. They have become an icon as well, so like all other icon cars it's no longer a daily or leave it in a car park somewhere.Cheers
