  • Great to see

Firstly, I must say it’s great to see that the forum is still here. All be it with an understandably reduced contribution and visits, given how most of these cars are no longer being driven and just hidden away. I’m guilty of the above but not by plan, started a restoration then life and unfortunate circumstances got in the way. However, now I have most things under control now this is the year I want my car back on the road. With that in mind over the coming weeks there will be a number of questions, so please excuse me.

As for my car, the Speedo works as I’ve tested with the cable on the drill. I’ve got another Speedo drive that bolts to the sump and both behave the same. Is there anything that could be installed wrong during the restoration after the Speedo drive that’s stopped the speed being transmitted. Also, originally was the drive mated to the sump with a gasket? Lastly, what is the oil that comes out of the bolt holes for the drive please? Apologies for all the questions it’s been over 10 years since disassembled.
