300zx tiwn turbo nissan,what to look for?

as above my friend went to look at one today, when we started it.. it had a ticking noise on the right side of the engine sounded like a hydraulic lifter.. if so would this be costly to repair? and what else is there to look for on these cars? cheers hugh

I heard that Nissan don't do much work on these & outsource the work to a 3rd party. Not sure how true it is but in some cases its an engine out job to do work on it.

look for big juice bills. bad clutches and gearboxes(weak point on them) head gaskets are an issue too. thats as much as i can remember my mate saying.
