Can't remember the name but the Marriot in Times Square is good, handy for everything really. We stayed their when we went in April last yr.

we stayed at the New York Hilton New Year just gone. centrally located. very good for central park, shopping, times square etc. reasonable rates as well.

Anywhere around times square area up towards central park would be well located for most of the touristy things you'd want to see. Although Statue of Lib etc is donw the other end.

Just back, we were in the Marriot Marquis in time square very central but if you want to see a bit of New York go on the open top bus the tour guides are good Crown Plaza is another good one.

Christmas just gone i stayed in the Marriot on Times Square, it was an awesome location and a very nice hotel, but the room decor was a bit outdated Trump towers looked the bollocks (batman esque)

I agree with myaRSe about going on the open top busses, for food go to the districts much better than the over priced chain resturaunts on Times Square etc, but 'The View' ontop of the Marriot was something special http://www.theviewny.com/#: and Maxie's restaurant on 7th was quality.
