oil change fill level ?

doing a oil and filter change at the weekend and i seem to remember from somewhere that you shouldn't top up to full for some reason, but keep the oil level half way between min and max, is this correct or is it ok fill to max

I always fill to the max, but seem to remember that some oils run thin when warm, so overflow when filled to the max mark. Can't remember which oil it was, but I run Mobil 1 Motorsport with no problems

knew to avoid castrol from a previous thread, only one i can get locally is millers so was gonna try that

As long as they do a 10w50, that will be fine (Millers are a good oil). Don't use a 60 weight if you are exceeding 6500rpm, as it is too "heavy".
