    where are the most common oil leaks from i have got oil on floor where car has sat for a week about 1/4 litres worth any ideas where to look sides of rocker cover look ok checked dipstick and thats nearly on max still

    front and sometimes rear crank seals are the main ones,the fronts always seem to leak

      I had a massive problem with the cam seals leaking and that made a hell of a mess on the floor when i parked it every night.

      When you say its sat for a week, has it not run in a week and its still been leaking?

        ok mate, i am changing cambelt etc soon so will have a look when thats off as cambelt cover still on and cant see down there any other places to look are sump gaskets a problem on these for leaks or cam seals? cheers

          no not been started for a week just sat there but have had a leak oil in same spot for a while but not as much just the slight drips, its just started to get a fair bit more than usual

            wot oil you have in car and how long it been in? some oils wen get hot become so thin and leak evrywhere. hope you get the leak sorted. i wud jack it up put on axle stands, take engine shit tray off try clean any oil present off and then try find the leak.

              hi i use mobil 1 15/50 been in a year done about 1500mile yea think i will get under it an take cambelt cover off and give it a good clean with brake cleaner? see if i can spot it that way

                Got the same trouble with mine, the best way is to jack it up Degrease & jet wash the underside so you get rid of the old oil then go for a blast. You'll soon see where its coming from.

                Mines the rear & possibly the front Crank seal / gasket.

                  Remove the cambelt cover. Clean area with brake cleaner and let it run. Will show you were the leak

                    took cambelt cover off and cleaned as much as poss and started it up after few secs it started seeping out of front of rocker cover /half moon seals then as you rev it up its seeping faster!! so hopefully thats it! i got a new gasket the new rubber version and half moon seals last week as i was going to change them anyway when i do belts and oil change etc so going to crack on with that lot today cheers lads
