  • Best Tyre Size for 18inch Wheels...

As I have not found a set of wheels and Im getting hacked off with it, I might order new wheels from Martin this week. My question is what tyre size is best for 18inch x 8inch Comp Mo's for my Escort? I have Koni rear suspension and Bilstein front coilovers

    Cheers.

I am beginning to wonder if a 40 profile might give a better ride given how Britains roads are going downhill now

Your 245/35 will have about 5mm less sidewall than a 225/40. 40 and 35 stands for the % of the width, so you have 35% of 245mm as sidewall while others have 40% of 225mm as sidewall.

Thanks for the help. Think I will go 235/40/18 if they will fit? I need as much traction as possible

I want the wider tyre to stop the donuts my car kept breaking traction on launches, which lead to me trying to drift a roundabout. If the tyres grip I won't try donuts hopefully keep the transmission in one piece
