  • Removing water spots from paint

I've just been out and washed the car, and where it got caught out in the rain the other day it looks like the rain spots have left marks on the paintwork. Washing doesn't seem to touch them, and I don't want to get more involved yet in case I damage the paint.

Should I be using a clay bar for this? Or the dreaded T-Cut?

    Thanks for any advice

No need for T-Cut mate, Claying always helps a cars paintwork anyway if it's not been done for a while

Either re-wash it when the suns gone or get some detailer spray, Megiuars stuff is good and also Zymol Field Glaze is excellent, that should clear them off

If not wait until the suns gone and give it a good polish using something like Megs Tech Wax, that should definately remove them

As Dan says or if you want to go to town buy some paintwork cleanser such as DODO Juice Lime Prime, it will then need some decent wax over the top for protection

just wash and them shammy and normal high quality polish does it for me when that happens.

mind you i don't like washing my cars in strong sun as the water drys to quick and that happens, better if your going to do that have a good pro shammy with you and shammy the car, thats what i do and i get the thing gleaming..............know what i mean

Rain wouldn't leave water marks on ya car in my experience. Get yourself a mcguiare drying cloth and microfibre cloth. Quickest way to dry ya car I would re wash ya car using mcguires shampoo and dry using them the mcguires cloths to get rid of water marks.
