I told Jay and Paul the same, thing - ONLY mod the car for yourself, not to keep up with the anyone else, as big power and what comes with it is not for everyone. I personally advise people to go for a 0.48 a/r housing and greens, but no-one ever listens to me and then tells me after that they wish they hadOriginally posted by Jay P View PostI can understand why some Escos owners want big power, some just to say they have it, and some who use it, but to throw the purchase price of another Escos for instance in an engine and transmission mods is beyond me. Ive done 50+ track days over the last 9 years and enjoyed being the "underdog" if you like. It was great being able to stick with someone who has a high power cozzy when I was in my RS2000, a very satisfying feeling. So unless you are like Mr. Rainbird who does lots of track per year including 'Ring trips its probably not needed. Ive had my Escos 4 years now and its still a small turbo stage 1 and thats plenty on the road and will stick with lots of very high performance cars to well beyond 100mph and its never broken yet. Stage 1, its the future.
. Spend the money on brakes and suspension and transmission with sensible engine mods to make track use completely safe (breathers and swirl pots).

jay, for what my view is worth (not alot really) if it is not that far off being done, get it done and use it, then if you still dont like it change it back to a stage 3 and sell all big bits to recoupe some wedge and make you feel a bit better. at least that way you can say you gave it a go.
plus you may get some motivation if you actually turned up at a show every now and then you lazy arsenal nobber!xflow way to go!
