whats the score with people using photo's that you have taken for their websites for sales of products?
i have found my pics on a bodykits sales place.and they can only have stolen the photos from a forum as our photobucket is locked

is it taking the piss or a compliment you would ignore?i thought they needed the ok from the photographer

Simple one Neil, ring the compny up and ask them if they have the permission of the photographer, when they say yes introduce yourself and say you can't recall them making contact.
Then give a long pause to see how they respond!

i wasnt sure on the law. tracey thinks if its been put on a public forum then they can use them if they like but i thought you had to have the photographers permission which they dont!

If you have posted them on a forum, then that forum can use them, but not users browsing the forum. It's complicated ( I see it a lot as I work in the design and print industry) but the fact is they don't have permission to use your images to promote their business. It can be hard to get anything done other than get them removed. I'd play their game and get them investigated by customs and excise, and the vat man.

Didn't one company use someone's photo's to advertise their business in one of the Ford mags? Got a proper slating on PassionBMW and the advert was removed from the mag I think. I would ring them up and ask "The Cosworth on your website, it is for sale?"

i use one site where the bloke who owns it is a funny cunt,all the pics are available if you know where or from old magazines yet he has them copyrighted sort of or right click save and it says property of so and so and a exclamation mark.

the way around it is to photo yer computer and then wop them back up,goes down well that does
