Escos - Pro Street / Drag

I am Seriously thinking about turning my escos in to "Pro Street" / Drag car.

Fully tubbed rear - and something like a Ford V8 (small block) Twinn turbo jobbie.

Is this something you guys would be interested in- i.e build thread, or wud I be offending true escos lovers ? ? ?

If I go ahead - which i'm 98% certain I will, then there will be a big list of stuff for sale, will keep you posted.

perosnally id buy the one on passionford for sale with a twin turbo v8 in it already, that way you already have the expensive part done and would just need tubbing etc

id be interested to see something like this as i remember a sierra being done a while ago but was street legal aswell

im not a big fan of escort cossie dragster and personally I do not think its a good idea if I were to build a pro street dragster then I would buy a skyline or a toyota supra Because I think its cheaper to build and it may take some more beatings. but thats just my opinion
and i think it would be a shame to strip such a nice example as the one you got

whose was the v8 at central day - that sounded awesome, if ever i was to buy a shell and start from scratch i'd like to have a go at something like that

Or buy a shell and go from there as you will be ripping most of the stuff from yours and custom making it so will be easier that way. Btw ive got a cheap shell for sale

Thanks for all your comment lads, still lots to think about.

I want to try and build one keeping it as much as a car as i can as i still want to use on the road from time to time. - try and keep it looking mint, but different, we will see.

Its just i've just recently got in to drag racing, really enjoying it, and then looking at the pro street motors, I started to think - imagine the escos tubbed.

I love my escos, and never want to sell it, as I got so many memories with it, its my car - cant let no one else have it. I know it will cost much more doing it this way, but will investigate all options first.
