spraying a intercooler and rad black

as a above i got a pace intercooler and rad but i want to repaint them black maybe is there special paint i need like heat prove

ive painted a few frst pace rads + intercoolers in the past with just standard satin black. always seem ok when i done them

light dusting of hamerite satin will be ok, dont go too thick with the paint.

did you rub down for a key and any primer first

i just went straight on to mine when i did them as they were quite old and they felt alittle rough already. but if they are really polished i would give them a little rub down 1st

georgie mate get sum barbeque paint from ebay cheap as chips and heat resistant few difrent makes and finishes available. ideal for wot you need.

What prep work did you do before painting & how many coats did you put on?

Scotch pad over first , then acid etch primer , then satin black from halfords and it ain't moved yet

My mate got his frs 1 done in powder coat and it looked well
What do the likes of spec r Do when they are new?

Not sure, airtech do black intercoolers etc as well. I have red that the powder coat can be to thick and effect the performance of the cooler.
