  • What breakdown cover?

I've just got my AA renewal through - me + wife, roadside + home start (complimentary) + relay - and it's not gone up to £149 a year. Seeing as I can't remember when I last had to call them out, this seems to have got very expensive.

I want to keep a policy which covers the named people rather than the car - we've got 4 cars, possibly going up to 5 (3 of them are mine ).

    Any recommendations?

    Cheers
    Dave

You get discount on Personal RAC Cover through the RS Owners Club.

I'd do it for you, but the cover I do only covers the car.

Just rang the AA having got online prices of £107 with RAC and £121 with AA - without me even telling them what I'd been quoted they cut the renewal from £149 to £99. So I've stayed with them, but does leave a bit of a bad taste that they're effectively ripping off for loyalty - I've been a member since 1989.....

My renewal was 130 odd, so like I do every year I did an online quote and it was £89.99 for the same as what I have. Called up the AA and told them I was quoted £79.99 on the website and they honored it I used them once last year for the Mrs car as starter motor packed up.

You can always quit the aa and sign back up online to get the discount if you've used it a lot
