Who has had to fit a new car battery to their car? I installed my new round post car battery yesterday, thought this was going to be any easy job!
I went to my local Ford garage and purchased a new car battery already knowing that 097 now know longer exists, you have to use a 065 and all it tells you to buy extra is an adaptor to covert your square post battery to a round post, so i got the old battery out put the new battery back in connected the negative then the problems started, how was i meant to connect that standard black Ford terminal block (think that is what it is called, correct me if i am wrong) back to my round post battery when it is only designed to be installed on the square post terminal? I have a small turbo escort cosworth, not sure if big turbo's have this.
I am guessing you lot have had the same problem if you have had your battery changed?
How did you get over it?
This is what i have done to get round it, I have taken that bracket off that black Ford terminal block which was also supplying the live to all the cables in the terminal block and then installed two heavy duty live cables onto the back of this unit back up to the positive on the battery, (no really reason as why i have used two heavy duty cables other than the two cables will help with supplying the current to all those cables that is connected into that black terminal block) has anybody else had this idea?
I have checked it all out on my meter and it works perfectly.
