ECU wiring

I have just got a new Ryan loom for my ECU.

I went to change it and have found the original wiring is in with the rest of the engine bay loom. Has anyone else changed this?

There is 2 ways to go about it. Rip the original wiring loom to pieces and remove all the wires or cut off the original wiring connectors and lay in the new loom.

I need to use the car in about 2 weeks so I am thinking of taking the second option and remove the old wires over the winter.

its easier to unwrap the loom and sort out which wires you need to keep,unless you know for certain which ones you can chop off and dont need
