T45 is a Carbon/Manganese steel I TIG weld it using ER70S-6 grade rod..you can MIG it but when I looked into it a long time ago a 15KG roll was £150.00 lol.......I only do small components, suspension links etc, but even doing a roll cage I'd probably TIG it.....my own esc cos has a fully tigged T45 cage in it...
There are many debates about welding T45, you could you am ER80 fill rod which is a little stronger but for most of the applications we do, the ER70S-6 is more than adequate...
