When did you see your first escort cossie.

I was 14 years old when i read that Liam howlett out of the prodigy owned an escort cossie i wasn't really into cars back then but i knew what an XR3I was and a RST etc etc.

I asked my mate and he said you don't see many of them but would point one out to me. Must have been 3-4 months later and a imperial blue escos was sitting at the lights my mate said that that is an escort cossie. Lights went green and the cossie tonked it from the lights and shot up the road.

From that day on i knew i had to have one Thanks to my mum i achieved my dream.

First time i ever went out in a cossie was when i was about 18 and a bloke called bruce took me out in his mallard green monte was running 350BHP then.

Mallard green one with Rondells, must have been about 93 when they first came out, reg was something like B19 WAD, from that second on I wanted a Mallard one

About 1994ish. Was a meter reader for the electric company. Was walking up a road in a posh part of Aberdeen and in the distance i could see this car parked at the side of the road. Bonnet first. Imperial Blue it was. The closer i got to it im sure the wider my jaw dropped. I couldn't believe someone would make a car that looked so nuts. Think i almost had an accident when i saw the rear end and the whale tail. If there was such a thing as mobiles with cams on them i'd have been there all day taking pics and filming it. Just loved it and ever since then knew one day id have one.

i was never bothered about the escort cossies, it wasnt until i split with my ex misses about 8 years ago, sold the house and decided it was time to get a nice toy again.
a couple of mates had Escort Cossies so i started looking aswell.

my first Escort Cossie which was Gloss black was my first ever ford.

First ever Escos that i went in belonged to a mate, mallard green on white RL7's about 9 years ago.

a bloke who lived next door to my gran works on rigs had a mallard green one wen they were new and he must of got sick of me as evrytime i was ther and it was parked up id go over and admire it, then my old man took me to see them at a local rally i can still picture the scene now of them at night in a snow filled forest popping and banging flames out and alwas said i wante one and wud have one some day. then a local drug dealer in my village got one but rolled it and completely wrote it off being chased by police, then clarcksons one on top gear brings back memories for me also.

It was at the motorshow for me, I can also remember them on show at national day up on a big ramp so you could have a good look underneath. There was a sapph cos there as well.

Kelv you are correct i see him at the start of the year when i popped down to grove garage (He has his engine work carried out by them they look after my cossie aswell)

Think the first I saw was Dave Moss's mate with the plate F1ASH. I remember seeing the plate and the car and loved it

What got me to buy mine was I never thought I could afford one and always wanted one. Broke up with an ex who loved them and was tempted with one herself just to piss me off (Long story ) When we broke up I was told I was this and that and I would never amount to anything. I said give me 12mts and I will have an Escort Cossie, she laughed. 18mts later I bought mine

When i was younger 10-12 ish my cousin had a sapphire cosworth was about 1-2 years old big bhp as well took me out in it............................."WOW"blistering quick quickest thing i had ever been in and ever since then I HAD TOO HAVE A COSWORTH then 1 day me and my old man and brother inlaw were looking for a car for my bro in law and walked into this car sales place and BANG right in the middle a black escort cosworth sitting there even had the talking alarmwas cool as fek at the time though "please step away from this vehical its protected by clifford"...................i couldnt though it was like a fekn space ship the coolest thing i had ever seen then ever since then i said i will DEFO have one off them i had not got in one till about a year and a half a go just before i got mine i would have still bought one if the drove pishi will never forget seen that escos was amazing site

I went to the motorshow when they were first released-must have been either 91 or 92 I was 10 at the time and instantly fell in love with them. They had a Mallard one on display, and a picture of a mallard one in the brochure. I cut that pic out and promised myself I would have one, I got myself a mallard one at 24 I still have the pic from the brochure up in my cupboard to this day
