Looks like old Max Power may be no more from January 2011. The publisher has decided to suspend the mag.

Not that i'll miss it personally not bought it for a decade!

it used to be the bible back in the day, I remeber them giving an esc cos away in it's first few issues!
I haven't bought it myself for over a decade either!

I bought the very first one........ and quite a few after I remember a purple 205 GTI being on the first cover, it had a Dimma kit on it

Seem to recall Vicki Butler Henderson was on the staff back then

Defo not my kind of thing anymore though

Was a great mag back in the 90's but went down hill. Was more soft porn than a car mag (now which do I prefer?? )

I've in the last year thrown out about 200 car mags, many Max power included - there was all the issues that details the the build of that yellow carlton.

I was in it a couple of times on the cruise scene pages when I first had a saph 4x4.

Went downhill in late 90's, i've not bought or seen a new issue for a decade.

I do have though every Fast Ford since 1995 and all of the RSOC mags since 1998.

Yea forgot about fast car that was a good mag for a while, they use to do some good tech articles.

I've never understood how car mags start off really good & then go sooooo off track.

I had it on subscription for a couple of years a long time ago ,remember the yellow

carlton ,never liked it [3 spoke rims ?] also was it MAX who did the orange Corrado ?

One of my old bosses had some cossies featured in mid 90s ,he had some tuned 500s

and his mate and business partner also did and he also had a 200 rep with YB and a Saff

anyone know or remember Alex Rogan ?

The one and only car that I vividly remember amongst a lot of dross was E55 DGU, the nicest 500 ever at the time IMO, such a shame it wasn't kept exactly as it was back when Jim Carter had it.

                        Awesome

I bought it for about 2 years and the one I remember most was a black mk1 escort in about issue 6 with bubble arches and a genuine rs1600bda motor in it.
