guys what can we do about these escort fuseboxes!

mines just recently developed a problem with heater speed 3, as some of you may have read on other posts, and when i taped the fusebox they suddenly worked! at this point i wasnt worried as i thought the inside would be fairly simple... but once i took a look i now think there a nightmare!

what shall i do.. i have resoldered a couple of dull pins, and now i cant be arsed to put it back in the car, i want a new one as its going to worrry me...

are these even avalible now what are the options? whats other people done..? i know its just a heater problem but if had fucked me off..

my part mumber is 94ag14a073bab which is a small turbo model, if i google it, other cars come up with the number the escort 1.7tdi and 1.8tdi seems to have the same number but i'm not sure if its right

are we all going to end up off the road with fuxked fuseboxes i'm generally worried!

Go into Ford with that part number Dom and tell them to order you a new one They are £500 odd now tho

Neil A did a post 2 weeks ago if you wanna search for it? He went into Fords and was told the price and maybe some other info useful is on there?

some escorts were fitted with the same fuse box as the escos so as long as your numbers match they will fit just make sure all fuses and relays are fitted to the replacement fusebox as they are in the escos one
people make this mistake all the time

thanks guys i'm going to have to hit the scrappys then! i surpose geting one out of a car that hasnt had big sterios, boost controlers, gauges, big fuel pumps is more likly to last

most cars are scrap by 18 yrs old so think of it that way

I had an Escort cabrio MK5 and had to replace the fuse box due to various faults, so it's not only the Cossie ones that pack up, but if you get one for £20 and it lasts a year then you cannot complain

Try searching eBay and asking people what the part numbers are as most people just put "Fuse box"

400pound is new 20pound is 15 to 20 yrs old so pot luck i guess

I work at Ford, and bought a new one for 2 years ago, payed around £210, in Norway.

I soldered mine about 4/5 years ago. Touch wood all is well, it lives in the garage so hopefully that'll help it last.

i just wanted to get a new one and forget about it for the next 10 yrs, suppose i could have got one from a scrappys but i just wanted it working and not worry about it going wrong again, turns out i did not really need it anyway lol

keep an eye on ebay these are always coming up on there , for the price you should get one for when yours fails and it will, my new one cost me £45 well chuffed
