why did you do the conversion, its been a while since I had one so how have things moved on. I know the cables weren't too clever so I had a few gp A style made. Never had to use the spare as I never broke a cable again and the clutch was a 6 paddle solid AP clutch. Are hydraulic really worth the effort and money.
Cheers,
Frank
ive gone for helix 6 paddle cluch for my new engine, and whilst engine and box are out was advised to go for hydrolic set up, got it from martin at reyland and acording to evryone who has fitted them its one of the best conversions for the escos so thought id jump on board aswell, but if i knew how much fook on it was before hand maybe wud of left it alone ha. . . but im no mechanic.
Good lad gaz Have you drilled the clutch pedal yet? take some pics when you do, i havent done that bit yet.
i will do Gaz, ive just managed to get the pedal box out- after removing harf the dash surrounds and complete steering column rack and wiring etc. will be drilling the cluch pedal at work 2morow so will have your pics on here 100% gaurenteed 2morow night fella.
Pics would be awesome thanks Gaz why didn't you just take the clutch pedal off? Or does it need to be the whole thing? Gonna get my brother round to get the pedal out on mine as his done it 3 times before to replace the ratchet

steve thers a pedal stop bracket wich needs to be removed/ cut off and this bit is on the part of the pedal box wich is on the brake pedal piece if you know wot i mean other wise cud have just removed cluch pedal.
I looked at it today, i recon you can get a set of tin snips up to cut the bracket off then just remove the pedal. Thats what im going to try first anyhow
Ah shit, sound like a pain in the arse How did you get the pedal box out?
undid the plastic lower part of the dash dropped it out the way. on the engine bay side of the steering column there is a 10mm nut- loosen that to allow complete column to be removed including steering wheel etc. remove the top and bottom coweling around steering wheel, undo plugs to both sides of indicators, remove bonet release cable, and remove ignition black box. thers a few plastic clips and bits to remove under steering column- you will see these wen under neath. wen you look at the pedal box where it ataches to bulkhead you will see 17mm nuts, there is 4 of them but you only need remove 3 of them- the 1 wich you carnt get socket or spanner on stays put. remove brake switch and clip holding pin on brake pedal. wen you look up at steering colum from underneathe ther is 2 x 10mm nuts loosen them. sit in driver seat and wen you lookk at steering wheel once the cowelings are of there is 2x 13mm nuts aswell- drop both these off and the complete steering rack will come out. then there is a black plastic air duct also in the way you gota remove that and then the pedal box will come out.

That would be spot on Gaz
no probs fella let me know if you manage that way its quite thick and strong the bracket so make sure you have your weetabix before you try tin snip it off. the shaft wich the cluch and brake pedal are on has a circlip on both sides wich may be tricky to get off and back on with throttle pedal bein so close. . .but worth a try mate.
