S_HP will be computer derived crank figure. Thats not far short of my 911. in an Escos it should be V quick.
What is the spec of the engine. Who built it.
      Thanks
      Frank

The lower power was done by a couple of other tuners spec and mapping the higher fig was myself advising one what needed to be changed and sorting it.

SCS built engine with T4 and RS500 inlet with eight greens........... i guess it's what some would consider an old school 500hp recipe Still holds it's own though

Agree with Jim aswell, you defo need the BT engine for the iconic and instantly recognisable cam cover

When's full boost then Julian? Just before 5000 rpm? How does it drive on the road?

How come the graphs dont start recording torque untill further up the rev range? is it just because its bellow the scale thats shown on the graph?

And as sunnysidebb sais the torque crosses the bhp at 5250rpm, Why is that then?

Very interesting to see a old t4 spec graph against a newer gt30 spec graph with similar power outputs

And my next question after dunc posted his graph, how come his is a more consistent flat torque line? and not as much? Would that be down to cams? And not as big a boost spike? (iirc i remember mike saying boost makes torque or something along those lines)

I bet thats a nice engine to drive dunc, with that much torque low down

because most engines dont start doing much before 3500 rpm but mine is much better to drive below 3500 than it was with a T34/63 and mine is right on song at 3500rpm

mine does not run a big boost spike it just nice and flat and drives very nice off boost and very well on boost

Way before 5k i don't have a decent easy to read boost gauge in the car but my arse Dyno tells me that the car starts to stir at around 3.5k and is fully awake at 4k.......... so, still not exactly ultra responsive though a roller core is on the cards to help with this

On the road........ not everyones cup of tea i'm sure as there must be better road specs but if you put the work in you can get the results
For instance, i've been in many convoys with normally aspirated performance cars where they suddenly without warning decide to put the hammer down and disappear.................. i get left behind as it takes a moment to get in the right gear and bring it up to the boil, but once you're there and keep working it to keep it alive there isn't much around that is going to humiliate you

Don't forget you need full boost as low as you can get it as this will make a great road car like L8 ECU. No good if full boost and power is late as you won't keep up with anything. My mates 330 st was hard to keep up with on the twisties as torque is so high low down but as soon as you got on main roads it's a bit different

remember i run a gt30/63 so its not got the larger rear end but i wanted maxium low down grunt so its nice to drive on the road and unless i went gt28 and lost maxium power this turbo was the next best thing plus it still made over 500bhp and is on full boost at 3500rpm (33psi) but the car drives so much nicer than it did with the t38 on it and has a nice big kick at 3500 rpm that keeps on going all the way to 7000 rpm in all the gears

You're engine sounds ideal and well thought out Dunc............... couple it with my close ratio gearbox and it could be a match made in heaven

Though, i won't be re-speccing my engine For obvious reasons........ lots of £££'s for small gains

You would lose some refinement with this box though as you wouldn't have the nice quiet 4th and 5th

This is excellent feed back guys, thanks,
Dunccoss, thats a nice graph, good straight torque and an excellent bHP figure. I would be well happy with your set up.

i'd be interested to see what mine goes like next to yours jules.although you would walk away when you get to the 120 mark i reckon, due to my ratios
