Can someone confirm what your new VAT rate will be is it 20% or the same as us @ 21% and does it start from tomorrow ?

Its been at 21% for years mate went upto 21.5% in the budget in 09 but came back down to 21%

Fuel is kinda cheap mate with diesel at 1.30 euro a litre and petrol @ about 1.35 euro a litre

Road tax is the killer over here mate

its getting worse mate to be honest day by day wait till we have to start paying the billions back we got from the IMF EU and yourselves

its a scam, people are putting prices up at more than the 2.5% it should be,

eg,

a mate from work bought 10 ciggaretts today and they have gone up 23p since monday so more like 10%rise as 2.5% would have added about 7p to the price,

fcuking scandalious and i bet it will be the same for everything like when something was £9.99 it should now be £10.23 but i bet give it a couple of months it will be £10.99

Im quite nieve on this subject, i never thought ireland was as bad as that Whats the rest of the world like then, especially australia (im hoping to go over there working soon )

Thats what happened here when we changed from irish pound to the euro if something cost 10.68 euro it was put at 11.00 euro its all a ball ache if you ask me so sick of the doom and gloom over here

Road tax over here on the like of cossie and 2 litre cars is €614 a year.A 2.2 cdi merc is €800 and thats the old system pre 2008, 2008 on is work on it emissions.And vans use to be €288 a year up till september now if you can't produced a vat number or a farmer herd number you have to tax it the same as a car on its engine size.
