Yeah but to be fair mate, 1 bird every ten years.... its gonna take a while Or are you trying t turn them gay? If this is the case, surely its one every ten minutes?

I did consider trying to sort one myself..... but decided it would be too much of a ball-ache

That's not to say it couldn't be done but i wouldn't fancy the prospect of dealing with peoples money if pre-booking accomodation etc.
The other question Dave is wether you would get enough numbers to make it workable with so many people who prefer to not really drive their cars

If it were to happen my preference would be for North Wales for many reasons not least that it offers the best compromise for people getting there from the south, the north and the midlands
It doesnt matter on numbers, obviously the more the merrier but its not really going to get much cheaper for more people.... and i dont mind paying for peeps on card as long as i get the dosh back.

With so many nice esccos'es left next to each other, who's going to be interested in your mk5 replica??? sorry! Just joshing cheif. If the Mk2 escort boys can do it with their "ahem" high level of car security, im sure we can do it with our remote alarms etc..... or failing that, take turns at standing watch? bagsy first shift lol

I agree Jules would be quite a ball ache to do, and I would say though if it was done I would probably expect it would take a few years until it got a decent turn out, but if you guys want to do something like that I am more than happy to try and organise it for everyone with the help of others of course, the hardest thing will be trying to get a date everyone agrees on
We havnt set a venue or date yet. My experience of these things though (and sorry to be cut throat) is to set a date and venue and those that can make it great! If not, see what your missing in the mag and make the effort next year. If you try and spread yourself too thin by trying to please everyone, you will end up pleaseing no one by constant negotiation and in the end, no one will turn up because of bad vibes.

Buy an alarm. Seriously, it not like central London, its out in the sticks were most yocals would be glad for a 5 speed gear box, let alone an Escort Cosworth

Arrrrggg you git, while i was reading your response... some ass came and killed me in world of warcraft! anyway never mind..... im not really offended, i take everything with the lightest of fun.

Anyway, no one has set wales as a venue. The original title said "lakes tour". Not that im shunning Wales, rallied there a few time and loved it! im really just testing the water and seemingly....have got a good response!

Any one got a choice of Magazine they would prefer in attendance? PF or FF?

like the sound of it but 2 main probs for me. 1.having the dogs makes a trip like this difficult(and no i wont put them in kennels) 2. the prospect of driving my car with my bad choice of tyres in a country that will more than likely rain alot(wales or the lakes are known for it) doesnt impress me much either lol

The route being organised is absolutely key to the whole thing, if you just turn up and then it's a case of........... ok, shall we go left or right it would be a disaster and could end up going down roads that are not even suitable for low cars etc.
That's the beauty of the organised trips in that you get sent a file to load onto sat-nav so no time is lost looking at upside down maps and scratching your head etc they also supply everyone with high powered licensed walkie talkies to keep in touch.......... unlike the cheap ones we tried to use last year, with no real success they did work briefly on that convoy but only when our cars were so close together that i would have been better off shouting out the window at you lol

It shouldn't be too hard to print a road book...and no sat nav doesn't really work in hilly Wales or parts of Cumbria...lol

yes that's it and I would be useless in doing a route, out of interest how long roughly do you spend in the car on one of these events?

Oi are you saying my walkie talkies are cheap lol, but do agree they were useless

I'd be interested in a road trip if it was in Wales.

Tour to LeMans - weekend watching the racing, then a tour back would be ace IMO!
