Stunning cars , would love to have worked them you must have one of the best jobs going!
One of the geatest drivers ever in my opinion, and as said, will be missed, never failed to entertain, never gave up, now wheres the worship smiley for the legend mcrae!!!?
Excellent thread - you should transfer that over to the 'general gassing' section of Pistoheads as there is a lot of people over there that would really appreciate seeing that.
my mate used to service for colin when he drove for red, colin allways put his hand in his pocket to get the lads drinks in after the rally or in the evening in the hotel or club, and as he was so nice and freindly he got the best out of his crew.
i have another nice story about colin, one year he was doing the rac rally and the tv racer muppet tiff needel was doing it aswell in a ford entered 4dr cosworth, colin tiff and a few lads were standing around talking when tiffs cheif engineer walks up to him and introduces himself and the poof ignored him and carried on ignoring him until colin said "whoa thats the fella who's gonna help you do the rally, without him your not doing the rally". that shut tuff noodle up.
I was fortunate enough to see this car in person recently and it was absolutely amazing. I was completely shocked at how light weight some of the parts were like the hood pole and the tire jack. They didn't spare any expense when they developed it. The gear shift clicks forward and backwards with a perfect amount of feedback. I only wish I could see the car running and not just sitting in a showroom but it was still one epic experience!
