how have people done this? chop complete crossmember out and weld a solid bar in or fit a removable one? pics wud be ideal, cheers.

I then decided to have the crossmember removable to make life easy when it came to removing stuff. Now the intercooler can be removed without draining the cooling system and having to take out the radiator first

The L-brackets are to make sure that when towed, the weight of the car is not reliant on just the four bolts

The cross member is made out of a beefy piece of 40 x 20 box:



To give it more room and airflow, it was also modified from this:

Might be a bit subtle for some of you, but quite a bit was removed where it wasn't needed, and has had the result that the Morrettes fit better as well
