  • Tech Question - New Battery Tomorrow- What ampage?

As title, what size battery is best to go for that will fit the cubby hole? Mine only seems to last a week at the most, can't find any current drains at all .. Going to replace the battery as it's been on the car over 3 years now.

if it is draining fast connect one ampermeter wire on battery negative cable and other ampermeter wire on negative cable and you will see reading(lock the car and leave bonnet offcourse up but press the switch for alarm with some tape).......if it is high reading pull fuses till reading drops and you will find your draining point........hope it helps.......mine was central locking and alarm wire earthings

This is a well know problem, defo one to check Will especially with the other electrical gremlins you've had with the car.

I've ended up buying a ctek charger for mine to keep the battery topped up.

I think most of us are running a trickle charger

I will find my battery info. It's bigger than standard Ford battery and just fits in the whole without problems

          Genuine Ford Battery details added:

          560 030 060 . 1 426 519

          6G9N-10655-NA

          60Ah 590amp

Paul, my details are from a Ford battery bought 2 years ago. They only sell round terminal ones now.

Yep, bought one recently, was with round terminals. But they gave me two adapters to fit it for free.

Will, I would go to a car battery specialist. There is one in most towns/citys.

Ask for a 097 battery. It will be the correct physical size, have the correct terminals, correct cranking amps and wont need terminal adapters.

It will come with a 3 year warranty and be cheaper than anything supplied by a Ford dealer or Halfords.

I will most likely be a Fiamm, Exide, Varta or Numax branded product.

Ok, bought a 097 and it has square terminals! It does not fit, but it's ok it can go on the saff. I was too lazy to lift the bonnet today and was sure it was square, but my car has round connections?!

What does everone else have, round or square? Might be because it's a late small turbo model?
