RS500 or 3 Door 500 Copy

Right guys,

Your thoughts on this, I have always wanted a Moonstone RS500, but back in the day you could hardly pick up 2nd hand one's in Black never mind Blue or White.

So as you can guess i have a Black one now.

But i have really always wanted a Moonstone one, now i love my car but just can't get the Moonstone colour out of my head, Have been thinking about selling my 500, dont really no why, and then by an ordinary Moonstone 3 door as realistically a 500 in Moonstone is now totally out my league to buy, but then on Pistonheads there is a lovely looking 3 door built up as a 500 at 20K.

Do any of you guys know anything about this car and do you think i am crazy to be thinking about selling my one to replace with this.

Is it worth this money and will it still hold its value as really not original or would i be better of just getting a good clean original moonstone 3 door for less money, or just keep what i have and forget about the colour.

imo,dont be bloody stupid mate.a 500 is hard to buy due to price.if you have one stay with as if you get a 3dr you are going down and may have to pay ott to get back into one..

stay put or get a moonstone 500 is my view

If I had a 500 now I wouldn't sell it as the prices are crazy and may only go up. Good investment imo 3dr's should be around £8k-£10k so £20k for a 500 rep is stupid money

I know what your saying but i just can't justify the price the moonstone 500's go for now, they are crazy prices, the wife would have a heart attack if i sold everything to buy one.

That Moonstone 3 door is nice but has been on there for a while and is overpriced I think.
If you really wanted a moonstone car, then do what I considered and buy a nice low mile 3 door and put all the 500 parts on, you would have a very similar looking car, low miles and in moonstone for half the price a genuine 500 in moonstone goes for

I know the prices are crazy, had my one nearly 16 years now i think ? And they do go up a bit every year.
Good 3 door moonstones are now selling around the 10K - 12K lately and going up, you price in the 500 parts and its not far away from 20K, bumpers, splitters, engine, manifolds, turbo etc plus the BBS alloys.

Got the guy to email pic's of that shell a couple of days ago, just trying to think what to do, need to then pick up a log book for a moonstone 3 door and get good second hand bits, 3 door parts are even more expensive than escort parts, you seen the 500 rear spoiler and new front bumper on ebay, going mental prices

i was looking in to buying that moonstone 3door done to 500 spec. posted it up on here awhile bk. but id never be happy with it as i no its not the real thing. which no doubt you would probably be the same if you had it.

id keep what youve got.

im still on the lookout myself for one..

I know what your saying FRST, I think the car would be good enough, but it would be at shows etc where everybody would end up saying its just a replica even though it does have all the bits, think that would get me down more, you know what the die hards are like, its a bitz a car, not really a 3 door and not really a 500.
But have to admit it is a truly clean looking car via his website pic's, even the dash is mint, but really would have to go view to make a decision on it.
Also to really think hard about actually thinking about selling mine, half my problem these days is never really being home long enough to use mine, be lucky if it has done 12 miles since the Fast Ford photo shoot for the 500's, 20th anniversary

your bang on mate.. you will get the die hards picking. if youve already got a 500 just keep what youve got. or stick it up and see what you get offered. surly what ever you make you wont need that much more towards a moonstone one.
