blank key

hi people, can any1 tell me if the red chip thingy in the key is used by the escort cosworth as i think i read somewhere ages ago that its not needed, i bin looking on ebay for a blank key and theres that many choose from, cheers

thought it was needed in the later cars without the alarm thing (is it vecta) in center by gearstick

The red chip is pats imobilizer, not sure if the latest escos used this. Mine has bosch whit remote controll. We have all kind of keys in stock at work, and grind them to any keycode

IF YOU KEYS BOLLOCKED-(WORN)GET A NEW ONE CUT AND TRANSPLANT RED CAP /CHIP INTO IT

Or just use the red key to recode the new key

BT doesn't use the chipped key, ST does.

You can still get them from Ford and if you still have the red master key, coding them is easy.
