  • Group A Wheel Fitting

Hi, I am after a bit of advice please.
If I am correct Group A wheels offset are ET33 and the optimum ESCOS offset is ET18.
My car had GRP4 Escort MK2 1/2 UNF studs fitted with normal wheel spacers which I have now replaced with hubcentric wheel spacers (15mm)
How do you guys that have GPA wheels get them to fit correctly? Do you use wheel spacers and conversion nuts or is there a better way?

    Cheers in advance Pete B.

Are you certain they are GRP A and not just GRP A offset?

Either way, you can use a spacer and either normal nuts or GRP A conversion nuts.

Escos offset is et25, if your going to run 8x18's then aim for a target of et15.

            Thanks for replying Guys.

The wheels are Magnesium OZ Rally wheels ex Malcolm Wilson stock 8" x 16"
            ET33 with GPA inserts - I am also using 8" x 18" Compomotive MO's also ET33 with GPA inserts.

I am using 15mm hubcentric spacers just like Paul's but with Group 4 studs (18mm Shank) and bespoke sleeved nuts but in 1/2" unf which I had to have made up.
Obviously all the brake discs etc are drilled out to fit the studs as well.

See the stud on the right compared to the standard stud on the left.

I know its an old set up being imperial and all but is the setup worth keeping or should I convert to longer metric 12mm studs with GPA conversion nuts?
I can only use wheels with GPA inserts with the set up I have

The original owner built the car with this set up but was using normal spacers and nuts.
I am a lot happier with the set up I have now with hubcentric spacers and sleeved nuts.

            Cheers

            Pete B.
