  • Tyres how long do you get them to last.

    Hi all,
How many ROAD miles do you get out of ROAD tyres.
    1. Rears
    2. Fronts
    3. What do you use
    4 what do you pay.
    Cheers,
    Frank

Toyo's T1R's they were on the car when I bought it, not sure for how long either and they lasted me 15000 miles, replaced them and done 5000 on this set and a track day and still plenty of tread

GSD3 Eagle F1's £90 per corner, had a couple sets great tyre. Although these have been replaced now with new style F1's I haven't tried.

I was trying to work out some running costs.
I have just got back from the 6th 700 mile round trip to Nottingham Care Hospital in the last 14 days.
Average speed today from 2am is 71 mph over the 700 miles and 28 MPG. I checked the rear tyres and have about 2.3mm inside edge and 4 mm outside edge. Rears now done 10k and would expect to get another 1.5 k then thats it. They are £250 each

So It would be nice to see how you guys are fairing with yours. I do remember running my Cosworths getting about 10k regular motorway mileage but it was a while ago and I did have to dial out some neg camber. Was running 2 deg, but set to 1 deg neg. Made the Rears last a fair bit more and also the fronts if I remember correctly.

Big F.... if your running the porsha you need to put it too one side and get a reliable diesel with good boots that are not lp's. you want around 60 mpg and tyres that will do 25k

ps good luck with the ivf

Cheers matey, eggs were fertilised to day and go back in on Sunday so another trip down to Nottingham.
As to driving another car and not the Porka ( or ESCOS ) , not a chance, I own the car to drive it and drive it I do
Was the same with all my previous Cosworths as well.
I am asking really just for info, as the cost doesn't worry me too much.....your a long time dead so I tend to enjoy life now and worry about paying for it later.....well thats the theory anyway.
If you dont, one day you will wake up and find the years have passed you by and your too fookin old to drive a fast car
