  • patience is on the edge

i cnat believe how its always one thing after another with me and the car.it hates me its official.

gone to replace the shock tonight as it has gone completely and was sat on the bump stop.after my mate had agro getting it out we found the bottom balljoint is shot to bits too so i have a rush in the morning to get one sorted so he can get it out of the way so he can earn money.

i know its not major and can be sorted but its another simple job thats been prolonged due to other bits causing issues

oh well. i'll plod on.glad i found it before driving to central day

              Know the feeling mate,
The progress of my 3door from retaxing it this january =

Coolant loss, with no visible leaks or overheating/pressurisation of h tank, Possible headgasket problem!

So I Made my own pressure cap to screw onto the spec r tank, Pressurised the system to 20 psi and found a coolant hose was pissing out antifreeze due to not being tight enough. (Under normal system pressure it was undetectable, result !!!

Rebuilt a spare set of 4 pot front calipers due to piston binding and wearing out the front pads !! Fitted the calipers with new pads and had to make up some brake lines as the old ones were brittle, (Luckily only short ones from the crossmember to the hub).

All was good for a week then i noticed i could hear brake binding again, (surely not the fronts again I just bloody done them !)
Nope the rear brake caliper seized on and ate my red stuff pads and rear disc !

              Spark plug number 1 ate the electrode, 23psi using a 4x4 t3 on 803's = strange !!
So I had my injectors flow tested and cleaned (flow test revealed the injectors were in desperate need of a clean (well 10 cleans untilt they flowed right lol) seems to have solved the problem though.

Now with those set backs I can hopefully get on with replacing the clutch, getting my rear diff built by bara, fitting my msd rear diff mount, and refurbing the standard wheels.

It's a love hate relationship but its all been affordable fixes so far, end of the day all cossies are getting on quite a bit and unless they had a recent rebuild from the ground up then you're gonna start running into problems now and again.

              Your escy looks awesome bullett
