Flash code P8

Hello,

I have a little problem with my saff running P8 and would like to know if I can use a flash code reader, like those for the L-range ecus?
Or do I need a diagnostics PC or something.

And if it makes a difference, it is a MSD chip fitted.

You can use a flash code reader, don`t think chip type will make any differens

So that piece of wire with the LED and the 1K ohm resistor works with that?

And the codes are the same like the L8 ones?

Yes on both questions. I have the oe Ford led tester, from work
