well ive alwayed run a week mixure of blue for the last 6-7 years of cosworth ownership and never has a single issue, but just recently a mate put in red with a strong mixure and now i find the temp goes up and down abit more and also when the cars really warm i can smell the anti freeze which keeps making me think theres leak... so when i can be arsed im gonna dump it out and put blue back in

I'm using the green stuff as my mate had some and let me have it, but trying to get more is now proving difficult as my local shop only gets 1 litre at a time and takes weeks to replace it as he said "No one buys it except you"

I wanna know how to drain it all out and refill with the blue stuff, which is what I used before, but not sure how to get the old stuff out the block?

I would rather use a hose pipe and flush it out that way, but I use blue in mine

Cheers Dom, will give it a go when she's back running

I use 2 litres of antifreeze and fill the rest up with water. You will lose some when bleeding the system

Got some 2 year Blue in mine now............. but be careful about leaving it in there more than the 2 years as it does go off as i've found out recently

Put my car away for the winter with stuff in it that had expired and the corrosion inhibitors didn't do their job and when i started her up again in the spring the coolant went a rusty colour which was alarming at the time flushed out ok though and now got fresh blue in so ok foir another 2 years

Just make a note of when it goes in so you don't let it expire

As said the most other anti freezes need to be replaced after 2yrs.
