Standard rods are fine at this power level, unless you want to rev it high?

I use the pec steel rod and cosworth piston setup on most YB builds now days. Not worth risking the engine for the sake of decent rods if your trying to get loads of power.

If that was my engine at 7500 I'd use a polished beam standard rod with mahle pistons

That combination has been bullet proof for years

However, a longer than standard rod is only going to be better and the price of a good quality forged piston and h section rod nowadays is ridiculous and may be worth going for like jano says

The cosworth pec pistons look good

i like mahle a lot .but i prefer for 350 + engine ..500+plus will be better with forged pistons as i know .and the conrods can be good for big power but maybe not for long ..depense the boost gt3071 2 bar ..

              a gt3071 at 2bar wont quite make 500bhp

We have done plenty of 545/550 bhp engines on polished beam std rods and mahles, they're very very good

We tend to stick to pectel management although webber is very good
We have our own design inlet and use a standard sized throttle body as these are good for over 700bhp

It is very good and like is aid has made over 700bhp on our engines, it first straight into the car and lines up with a pro alloy rs500 style intercooler (or any other rs500 style cooler I imagine)
