  • Full speed Fan switch mod - Instructions inside!!

This enables the fans to come at full power at around 93 degrees, instead of the crappy slow speed.

Find the fan switch and unplug it (bottom RHS of the radiator looking at the car)

Look at the plug on the loom...

it looks like the right hand picture...

All you need to do is swap pins 1 and 3 over, either by using the correct tool to take the pins out to swap them.

Or snipping and resoldering the wires.
    Cheers, Kev.

what happens if it gets hot enough to switch to full speed? wont it then go to the slow speed instead?

instead of doing that why dont you just put a switched earth through a relay on to the high speed fan so you can manualy switch it if you think its getting to hot or to cool after a blast before turning it off

No, it won't - check the diagram :icon_smile

If you were worried, don't put the other pin back in.
          Cheers, Kev.

Not as easy as swapping two wires around really.
            Cheers, Kev.

Your right but by putting a switched earth in you could switch both fans on while leaving the fans as they are to switch when they reach the right temp
Coolant systems are designed to run at over 100deg so the small fan cutting in & out at 98 is nothing to worry about aslong as you know both fans work thee is no need to mess on swapping wires
If your worried about the temp scrap the standard ones & fit a big slimline one job done

I admit am am not an expert in this field but I am a qualified eletrician.
All i can see this mod will do is put full load on the fan circuit every time the fan switches on.
Rememeber when an electric motor inatially starts up it draws twice it normal running current.
Therefore it will make the wiring / fusebox fail earlier (or catch alight!) which is already a weak point on the Escos because of the continuious on / off function.
I would leave the fan circuit alone if it is already working correctly with the slow running function.
If not put a manual switch in as already suggested in or replace the rad fan switch
                  Cheers Pete.
