  • - Front driveshaft removal.

Guess what's given up the ghost today............ this car fucking deflates me emotionally.

Need to remove the front drivers side tomorrow, is there an easy way of taking off without ripping the front apart?

I know I've gotta drop the diff cover to get at the circlip.

    Cheers.

I would try to remove the shaft first before removing the diff cover as most cars no don't seem to have the clip fitted in the diff

          Oh the joys! Thought so...

It's not like I can even get another pair and do it all in one day as their GGR extended shafts so need to be fixed.

Mine had the clip, But easy to get out however thats the easy bit......

I wondered if i should leave the clip off but decided to put it back in. ( By the way a new cirlip is £11. must be made of gold)

Jase, being that yours are the uprated GGR longer shafts, are you sure they will have the circlip on the end inside the diff?

Did you fit the shafts yourself, or Martin?

I did mate, can't remember if I did.... I'll give it a tug before dropping the diff plate.

Do the ggr shafts use standard joints and longer shafts? or is everything different to a standard one?

So the ggr shafts are no better than the normal ones then I take it? As I guess these are not very old.
                        Have you launched it much?

I bought them cheap (second hand) tore, but the guy had done a couple of track days etc.....Then broke the car, few years old at a guess. Just one of them things I suppose.

Ade, won't know for sure till i remove but it seems to be the inner UJ.

Ok. I'll stick to the standard ones for now. They've been quite reliable actually.
