Dunc, I have had exactly the same thought, and I did buy a set of red ones for the car (up for sale now). You do get a lot better vision through the big turbo mirrors. The only reason I've not done it is people look at it and think something's not right. I find them a much better mirror myself though.

PS If you want some to paint I've got a really nice pair that are currently matt black (from new) which would look great painted up.

i'd also say no even though i do prefer bt ones but as yours is st shell with petrol cap etc i'd stick with your st mirrors

Nope dont do it. not just saying that as i have a small turbo car but i do think the small turbo mirrors look better.
