i think your best bet would be to fit a diff exhaust,a magnex would give the best clearance or even a standard ford one as that way it will pass the mot as well and they are easier to find than magnex,mongoose ones hang very low and arent the best fit in the world
if you look in my resto thread theres a pic showing the clearance with a magnex,orig one would be the same too,and then compare it with yours

You might not even need to change the exhaust - if you heat the hangers up and bend them so that the bit that touches is moved further upwards - might be enough?Mike Rainbird
