Give Martin a call, he mentioned to me that he had skimmed calipers earlier when it has been a tight fit

Gaz, I know your thinking buddy, I certainly wasn't saying the money was an issue

Have a word with Martin before you start shaving them, he may be able to do a deal where he swaps the calipers over and you pay the difference.... It's got to be worth asking

Don't bet on the 5555s fitting either. We had to shave Mark's to get them to fit behind his 18" Monte wheels.

imagine how much you would have had to shave off if you were trying to fit the 7040 calipers then, it probably wouldnt have had any strength left afterwards

but in fairness, the MO's do give more clearance than the Monte's.

I have the 5555 caliper on my escort and have had loads of different rims over the years and one being the old style MO in et 15 and they didn't fit over as standard but I stepped my discs back 7mm and then they fitted fine but needed to get new bells and brackets made plus I gad to Rose joint my track rod end to gain the gap to step the disc back and it now just misses it
But doing this has helped as my rotas would have not fitted plus other rims I have had

                      Cheers
