Thats a very nice offer of me trying your ecu/chip......i may well take you up on offer but was hoping someone could shed so light on my problem of car being slower with my different chips!?
You don't know what my code is yet!! But I think this one is COSY. Previous was ANTI but after a misdiagnosis from Ford, a brand new COSY one was bought, but never fitted! I had the ANTI chip from Collins reprogrammed with no boost limiter and rev limit raised too. Never used it, bought OMEX instead! I have the ECU, tell me where you are, I'll ship it if you need it.

Chip could be different boost levels, but EEC4 cossy also higher boost on some chips gives more torque, less BHP... they are weird. Some chips like the Superchips ones, you need to unplug the amal valve ontop of the intercooler or they are pants!

Well both my chips are Superchips type so maybe me not disconnecting amal valve is my prob. How is the boost controlled if amal is disconnected?

ASAIR the valve needs to be disconnetced on Superchips or it cannot reach the desired boost level. When I bought my first ST model, back in 2003 it had a Superchip fitted, but used to over boost and cut out. I took it to a local Superchip dealer who disconnected it, and it was perfect. I think the boost was higher, but not too high and possibly preset by ecu / chip. It was a long time ago so not 100% which way round it was, but I'm pretty sure that is true. I soon junked the Superchips chip and swapped for the Collins one which needed the valve connected. It was much better. I ran this set up for years and took me upto 303bhp.
