I can get most parts you need, but it depends on what you are doing.

I have seen some awful ones, like Austin Maestro based front engined....WTF?

there are several kits out there. I know as i want one as my next project.

The earliest and longest in production is the kara/mecury motorsport/rs automotive kit which is still in production today as the evo200 @ http://www.evo200.com/

It was produced in the early 90s just after ford got rid of the originals. It is slightly longer than the original as ford copyright people specified that no panel should fit an original. Also its slightly longer wheelbase means its on road handling is far more refined than the original which is a handful to drive. Its had lots of development over the years and even now is getting refined further with reprofiled sills, forward opening rear clam, copy of original dash etc etc etc. You dont need to use the UN1 as they can also use audi transaxles as well as the more expensive porsche G50.

theres a subaru based front engined one.

theres a cossie 4x4 front engined one too.

Another is a proper mid engined replica. Identical bodywork to original, copy dash etc based on a spaceframe chassis. http://www.sportsandleisurecars.co.uk/index_003.htm mid engined either inline, transverse or inline 4wd as per original although the 4wd option is pricey as its all custom parts.

the most accurate replica is made by enzo designs who claim to have original panel moulds (several companies claim to have these). They do however have moulds and tooling for all the interior ducting and panels etc as well as tooling and jigs to manufacture the chassis and subframes. The car is a 100% copy and can even be fitted with a 1.8 BDT as per original or evo spec 2.1 etc. Enzodesign just build the parts, graham hathaway assembles the cars. price is about £100k though

                      Medically Discharged!! Officially insane!!!
